Cat grooming is a skilled service that enables cat's to live healthy and non-restricted lives free from excessive hair. A cat's coat can become knotted or congested with dead hair which prevents the skin being able to breathe and risks infection and fungal disease. In addition, knots or mats form and restrict the cat's ability to move and therefore groom themselves effectively.
A by product of shedding are furballs, created through ingesting hair which is then vomited out. Customers with indoor cats also enjoy the benefits of regular nail clips to prevent damage to furniture and carpets
All cats, whether long or shorthaired welcome a professional groom. With regular grooming, your cat can enjoy the benefits of a healthy skin and a shiny coat. Regular nail trims remove old or cracked nails as well as removing the sharp hook that can cause damage.
Most UK based cats have two shedding seasons when they are most at risk of matting. Cats with medical issues, restricted movement or are elderly are susceptible all year round. Long haired cats need more frequent visits if owners struggle to maintain a grooming regime at home.
Once a kitten has had it's second injections it is able to be seen in the salon. Starting young. means kittens soon become acclimatised to the salon and the services provided. All cats are welcome from any age to begin their journey to good coat health.
Once your cat is welcomed into the salon it is allowed time to acclimatise from the car journey and explore. Our salon is completely air conditioned and cat proof. In advance of their visit they will have pheromone diffusers enabled and access to our aromatherapy sprays. The cool temperature of the salon coupled with soft lighting and music makes for a very pleasant start. They are invited to sit on a cushion to begin. Once nail tips are removed, the groomer begins by assessing the condition of the skin and coat. This determines the direction of the work. All cats receive: a completed comb through, mat and knot removal, waterless bath and conditioning shine spray. If requested, excess hair around the sanitary area can be shortened. Bathing cats in water is an additional service, as are lion cuts and are priced separately.
